The Würzburg Residence, located centrally in Würzburg, Bavaria, is considered a masterpiece of Baroque style in Germany. It was built in the 18th century, with architects such as Balthasar Neumann, Johann Lukas von Hildebrandt, and Gerolamo Francesco Frölich leaving their distinct marks.
Already in the 13th century, there was a medieval castle at this location, which was later transformed into a Renaissance palace. The Residence, built in the 18th century, symbolized the influence and wealth of the Prince-Bishops of Würzburg.
