Neuenburg Castle rises majestically in Saxony-Anhalt, bearing witness to Germany’s profound history. Built in 1090, it represents an outstanding example of Romanesque architecture. Although the architect of the castle remains unknown, it is believed that the construction work was carried out by numerous talented craftsmen under the supervision of Count Otto von Ballenstedt.

The 19th century brought a rebirth for Neuenburg Castle. Under the leadership of renowned architect Friedrich August Stüler, it was rebuilt in the style of historicism. The accompanying park, designed by the famous landscape architect Peter Joseph Lenné, lends the castle ensemble a harmonious and inviting atmosphere.
After World War I, its function changed from a political center to a cultural meeting place. It served as a source of inspiration for artists, writers, and intellectuals who were attracted by the impressive architecture and picturesque surroundings.
Today, Neuenburg Castle houses a museum that immerses visitors in the Middle Ages. The opulent rooms are rich in artworks, furniture, and historical artifacts. The adjacent park also provides a picturesque setting for walks and scenic views of the surrounding landscape.
